Okay, the sand was beautiful but not white

The water cold, colder than I remember

The ocean blue and vast in its proportions

The seagulls flew past, so many, so obnoxious and loud

Ruining the moment of the pelicans floating by slowly and proud

In the far distance my daughter (Both of them)

Their silhouettes laughing at something, something funny, I think

Beautiful people, look at them laughing, standing tall

As if it was not yesterday that I took them to the beach to build castles and dreams
