作曲:Paul Richards
作词:Paul Richards
Here at the start of my start
She pulls me drowning from the sea
White fingers flashing down
She's pounding on my heart
Draining the water around of me
Has gone down
It's a marvel to drift so many leaves
But I can't remember now
Not a single sight or sound
It seems that I've lost my memory
When I was lost at sea
I try to tell her about the water
She tries to feel how it must be
To ride the swells of the ocean to be
Waterman doomed to die in the sea
Gales of hell
Waves of motion
She tries to see what I have seen
She takes me to winter in her home
And just like the tree that grows tallest in the park
She's the only knowledge I have known
So I find me a place in her world
Where they say the water speaks to me
And each time the stream won't flow
Or a farm needs a well
Well I show uncanny mastery
Since I was lost at sea
But there's an ocean deep inside me
To find the man that was myself
Before the swells of the ocean made
A waterman doomed to die in the sea
And people formed
Can see
She spies a schooner in our bay
Flashing fingers pointed out to me
The crew runs their anchor down
I splash out through the waves
And they tell me how it came to be
That I was lost at sea
We hear the grandeur of my past
Her tears just glisten silently
With the dawn we'll all be gone
They rescued me at last
On this sixteenth anniversary
Of being lost at sea
Tonight I tell them of the water
My sight dissolving into green
About the wells about the ocean
The waterfalls and the whispering streams
About the love and devotion
That the water man has seen
So I say to the love of my life
You never drained the water out of me
And I stand with her on the sand
As the ship sails out of sight
With the tale of what became of me
I was found at sea
They'll say that out there on the water
A man got lost in endless scream
He wrote wells of the ocean
Became a waterman doomed to die in the sea
We never will have a notion
Of what the waterman did see
She was there at the start from my start
