you guys sit down don't speak just sit there! i want to thank jerry kalangelo, john de leva, the mortar governors of trustees and all those who voted to make me part it made me ask the question what the hell am i doing here how did this happen it's hard to describe because i'm a division three night。 her fans have been great just like in every city and i think what are you people doing here who invited you it's a pretty large town but it's a very small town atmosphere and they think we belong to them and we kind of like it because we feel responsible to them so thank you all we're gonna continue to try to do our best。 why larry took me from there i'll never know i didn't help him very much but the odd part about it was that it was after a sabbatical year where this is the incredible part i got to spend an entire season at both kansas and north carolina with larry and coach, smith and royne bankey word。 对于大卫罗宾逊 and with david, it was okay i purse, i don't want a curse i know it's ignorant but you gotta be who you are。 对于帕克 with tony, i just asked him to be perfect。 对于邓肯, timmy with timmy, the relationship was i just wanted to him once in a while to listen to what i said or just not his head so that i knew that he heard me。 对于吉诺比利, once, he can anyone then he says you know i'm molin and grownin at him bob, i am mono this is what i do it's true story quote unquote at that point i learned how to zip it and just let him play。 my final message is just the winds and losses are all crap the highs and lows are all crap it's illusory, it's it doesn't really exist what exist is seeing these guys and their kids those relationships with your assistant coaches everybody else you're with your colleagues your friends because that's what you take with you as you move along all those windsor losses they fade away they fade away those relationships stick with you forever and that's where the self esteem and the self satisfaction comes。

you guys sit out don't speak just sit there i tried to think of a word that would describe what this might feel like and it feels even sure and it feels even different than i thought it would but for me it's unimaginable and that's not an tempt to be humble this is unimaginable and for anybody that's gone through this and felt it it's not something you think about as you're growing up it's unimaginable i uh i want to thank jerry kalangelo, john de leva, the border governor of the trustees and all those who voted to make me part of this honor as i look around and meet my colleagues with whom i share this dias tonight it's a pretty crazy feeling to be included in that when i look out here i'm looking at all these faces that are legends i i just i'm not speechless but i find it hard to find all the words to describe what's what's going on in my chest right now all the pictures and the artifacts in the hall of fame it's it's a long way from grown up in sunnyside in chicago, indiana and going under client avenue to franklin grade school right shot my first basket because we all remember where we fell in love with this game and for me it was there uh with that asphalt ground and that moon shaped backboard that kind of ages me i guess uh, but uh i can't remember there was a net or if it was that iron match thing uh, but it went in when it was done i was seduced dribbling downtown in chicago and going to the catherine house to play ball or going to the gary indiana armory to practice with bitty basketball for doc james all those days and nights out in the playground at thirty ninth and broadway and gary or out of the griffith parks those are the things that came back to me as i was thinking about standing here and i know that everybody has their personal stories so i'll stop with that, but uh it made me ask a question what the hell am i doing here how did this happen it's it's hard to describe because i'm a division three guy you know guys like coachicks are my idols you know those guys that's that's real basketball i was gonna wear my pomona pits her shirt, but i thought jerry and shoot me because i didn't do that i figured it out why i'm standing here i have half a brain took me a few days and i decided there were two reasons one of them is a bit lengthy because it includes the thank yous that are appropriate and the second one is really quick, but i want to thank coach for million who would open the gym for me in marylville indiana when i come back from lee from the academy and so i could stay in shape and he wasn't a basketball coach he was a baseball coach my chemistry and physics teacher, but he had faith in me and made me believe that i could play a little bit moving on to the academy i had the opportunity to play for coach bob spear who was an iconic uh shuffle guy i learned a lot of discipline i didn't shoot very much he took a shot about every one and a half to two minutes uh in in the shuffle, but uh he was a great man and was followed by another wonderful man named hank egan who was a very underrated coach he took over at the academy i played for him on the junior varsity team and he gave me my first job at the prep school at the academy is a head coach also this will be hard to believe but when i got the academy was a little bit of a wise ass, and i know you all know that now i'm a totally mature controlled individual, but he would boot me out of practice at least once every week and a half just tell me to leave and at the military academies that's not a good thing for you it causes a lot of trouble, but he was he was special and he deserves those thanks then things get crazy this can't happen to anybody but i guess it began when i actually was able to try out for the nuggets i was 26 years old and larry brown and doug moe were the coaches sufficed to say that when the camp was over larry and doug told me that it would be best if i got a coat in time and they had the vision i know it was a tough decision for him, but they cut me and kept david thompson so i knew pretty quickly that it was over and started to on that path coach brown for some strange reason when he went to san antonio he brought me along while i was at pitzer and pomona which is called pomona pizzer people don't understand that but it's two division three schools put together uh wonderful division three program and i was fat dumb and happy uh i had a couple of assistants there my first assistance in basketball really uh charlie catsuit fecus a tough schedule from out east here and lee wemberley is stanford grad who went to the bolt school lost school at berkeley, these two idiots accepted an offer for me for a thousand dollars per year and charlie who still the coach so co chixan can get after for this i also added to his contract if he painted the dorms at pomona and pizzer he'd get an extra stipen and these guys both took the job so i owe them a great deal started me out taught me a lot and we had great camaraderie why larry took me from there i'll never know i didn't help him very much but the odd part about it was that it was after a sabbatical year where this is the incredible part i got to spend an entire season at both, kansas and north carolina with larry and coach, smith and roy thank you thank you for being so kind and supportive while i was there we don't have to go through the details of where he put me and where i had to be but a whole year with those two guys that was like serendipity times ten and i'm very very grateful uh for that beginning from there uh from those purists, those people, coach, smith and coach brown that would teach for morning till night and if you were in a rocker step and you were an inch off uh they were on your butt from there i went to nellie that's a different world and speaking of nellie he's in no danger out there in hawaii for a couple of different reasons but heart goes out to all the people out there that are suffering so much right now it's a tough situation for sure he was the master of gaming the system coach riley knows that right he knew what to do with matchups he knew what the rules were and he knew how to use them he was a great manipulator of the game i can still when i think of i can still think he had like three or four guys standing at half court and somebody going one on one over here back in the day he was a little bit different in that regard, but i love him he is a great guy been blessed with great owners from the very beginning red mccombs an iconic figure philanthropist great man brought the team to san antonio and was a great mentor for me he's no longer with us, but the influence he had on me was tremendous then general robert ethnic dermit bought the team and kept it in san antonio when everybody thought it was gonna leave david had a lot to do with its staying in san antonio, so, and then the team was bought by the halt family our current owners peter halt and juliana han halt we're fantastic and they set the tone for our culture the demands the standards that were still trying to live by at this point on a day to day operation they've turned it over to their children to peter, john holton and sister carina who uh, i'm very grateful for in the sense that they've been just as trusting as their parents uh, they allow us to do our jobs uh, we keep them informed uh, but so far they sent me no out of bounds place or anything like that uh, i'm really indebted to them our fans have been great just like in every city now, i think what are you people doing here who invited you it's a pretty large town, but it's a very small town atmosphere and they think we belong to them and we kind of like it because we feel responsible to them so thank you all we're going to continue to try to do our best thanks for sticking with me i told you the first reason why i'm standing here take a little bit of time but number two is that quick so don't worry about it special thank yous usa basketball jerry colangelo fulfilled a lifetime dream of mine, uh by having to trust in me uh to coach the olympic team in two thousand twenty in japan and it wasn't easy uh but it happened and we won。

welcoming dwayne to the hall of fame is the answer alan iverson dwayne wayne 啊啊啊 啊啊啊啊 啊啊啊啊啊! i don't got much time coach pop took all the time let me let me get to it at first i want to start by acknowledging all individuals and the amazing women from 1976 olympic basketball team on going into the hall uh, tony pow, uh dirk we're all linked together already um, but being on this journey together uh getting to know one another um as men and not as competitors um has been helidoke for darken me has been therapy who would have thought that we would be on the same team out of all of our battles but here we are and it's one of the greatest teams i've ever been on so thank you guys 啊啊! i want to thank harold ale richards high school in oakland of noah i want to thank marquette university in milwaukee wisconsin i want to thank the mami heat in way county i want to thank to hoop hall here's my final love letter the first memory i have of holding a basketball was when i was five years old and it wasn't love at first sight but one thing i knew for sure was that something inside of me will come alive every time i had that ball in my hands i've got to credit my dad for my love of the game he's what you were calling everyday hooper and that was according to chicago chances are my pops took my brothers in me so we can play against grown as man to gain their respect and that was a basket and a run there we were pulling up to the lakefront false to park, blue island, rex center and any local jams and parks anywhere in chicago the best think about that time was what the game taught me i had a chance to see the way to game i had a chance to see the way basketball connected people just about hanging out with my dad, my uncles and his friends my love of competition came from seeing them go at it wasn't about anything other than their pride in the level of the game if you've been around basketball long enough you know how you know how raw it gets they had loud arguments about bad calls you couldn't even think about calling the file that wasn't some blood involved you had the plate through it all the tries talking in those games it probably wasn't appropriate for kids to be around but that's the game i grew up on that's the game that raised me after all those games about those really watching them sit down grab a cold beer laugh and joke about any and everything about work, family and definitely who got bucket dropped in the head that day you know as a kid all you need is an opening what i live for back then was any intermission in the game, it could be a long time out a long argument water break somebody getting pissed and throwing a ball over the fence a break between games and that was a chance for me to run on the court and grab that ball and imitate my dad i took it thing is the way five the ball was always too heavy to get to the rim or too big in my hands but little did i know that this object was gonna be the vessel that changed my life and my families by the time i was nine years old i didn't have to look far for elite level basketball my hometown team the chicago bulls were the greatest force on earth i look back on some i look back on those days as some of the best of my life, all my brothers demetris, donny and i did was eat sleep, talk, think and dream basketball it was my obsession the game gave me equal parts, excitement and frustration see i was columbia as hell back then my hands was too big for my body and my feet was growing just as fast before and out of school before and out of my games i studied the player who have replaced my pops as my favorite michael jordan he captured my imagination and feel my aspirations all the the same time i bet if you give me enough time, i could find that come fly with me vhs that i watched before every game i play the way he soared through the air felt like forever he created moves that made me immediately rush to my backyard to recreate them game two of the nineteen, ninety, one nba finals, the boys, versus, the lakers my dad's feathered player, magic johnson, cliff leviston draw baseline do it to mj? who was waiting at the frito line he took wonderable he took off a one hand like he normally does and he decide to switch it in the air to the left i bet you can hear marv albert in your hair right now a spectacular move about michael jordan after seeing that i couldn't tell you how many days the nights were spent practicing and move i wouldn't stop practicing it until i mastered it i was hoping to bring some of his style into my own game by seventeen basketball was my souls love language they have given me an identity it was a safe space that allowed me to be expressive and passionate i realized that basketball was my blank canvas i used it to reimagine my life no matter what was going on in my life? it was my sanctuary my way out i needed to reimagine life not just for myself but for everyone i loved the game name is why? i discovered who? i could become it showed me that on the other side of hard work was a success i created it told me to value a resilience in the face of adversity how to bounce back stronger at the defeat through the game i discover who shows up for me when i win and when i lose my confidence was found through the game help me find my worth far beyond the court you see i've never been a stranger to adversity i speaking of being label academically an eligible as a freshman in marquette at nineteen finding out i'd be a father before myself more season that season my tenth game against wake force i told him maniscus in my left knee and at the end of the season i assured you to remove my miniscus there was also two thousand seven when i had to have two surgeries at the same time one to repair my toral labor and my dislocated rotate a cuff in my left shoulder and the other on my left knee again and finally in two thousand twelve right after our championship parade down biscayne boulevard i had to have my third surgery on my left knee each surgery each rehab it pushed me pass limits i didn't know i had i could have given up wanted to i never second guess myself a third fourth fifth guess myself but i never allow my injuries to define me i'm on this stage because my beliefs have always been stronger than anyone's doubt so to all the hoopers i hope you take this to heart, no is never about to setbacks it's how you respond the blows? you take are fuel the limitations people put on you are actually inspiration no one who comes from a community community that i have has ever left a legacy we're from memory by having it easy as i reflect on my own destiny and an impact that my heroes have had on my life i'm reminded that our heroes are not always perfect instead they possess a relayability that makes them touchable real when anyone speaks about allen, iverson, that's exactly what they say he's real so ai i need you to notice i watched you with all because i saw a reflection of myself in you the way you play the game was exciting and fearless it didn't matter what they put in front of you, they wouldn't don't stop you i know i try it didn't matter what they said about you because they couldn't measure the size of your heart your authenticity and unapologetic attitude resonated with me a swagger unique style for rock and dude rags braves, the bag of shorts, the untuck jerseys, the averings, the chains, the throwback jerseys all combined to create an image that broke the mold you challenge, conventional norms and became the poster child for individuality and self expression inspiring countless individuals to embrace their own uniqueness you brought hold to those who grew up with limited resources you sold us that success and greatness were attainable even in the face of adversity your struggles made your accomplishments that much more remarkable ai you are a living breathing reminder that redemption and growth are possible you inspired a generation my damn self included to believe that coming from nothing was not a limitation but motivation i wore arm sleeve throughout my career because a idea。

wow, ah well staying before you with immense bride and gratitude as i humbly accept this huge honor of being inducted into the nasmate basketball hall of fame i want to express my deepest appreciation to the selection committee for bestowing this amazing recognition upon me this moment is a testament to the support guidance and inspiration i have received from so many through all my basketball journey i've always remembered the moment that jerry colangelo called me and to tell me the magic words you're in pretty powerful moment got to tell you i know my fellow inductees will remember it too congratulations to all of you it's truly an honor to be in the same class if you had told me when i was young a little kid growing up in a little city somebody well you know what i got that someday i would not only meet tony cocoach but that he be presented me into the hall of fame i wouldn't believe you and yet here we are tony tony was a great player heck of a player man i mean he inspired so many european players growing up i looked up to you and you inspired me to follow your steps thought i was gonna be a small forward uh you know but i kept on growing and growing uh and until i was twenty and so i need a playing closer to the basket having to face, timmy and k g and dirk uh but who knows maybe today's game i would have been a small forward who knows shooting threes all kinds of anyway, it turned up pretty good for me so uh thank you so much for this incredible incredible i also wanted to thank my friend and romado koream of duljabar i think many of you knew know that he was going to be here being also one of my presenters unfortunately he couldn't make it he felt actually under the weather i just want to say wish you well hope you will careem and thank you for accepting the honor of being my presenter man so many people have contributed me to me from being here, but no one like my family my dear parents um will introduce me to the game of basketball they both played at an amateur level but they played um thank you so much for all your teachings for your support for your love never missing a game never missing a practice taking me to practices after your work um you've inspired me your commitment your efforts your sacrifices have filled me motivated me thank you mom and dad i love you so very much so very much to my brothers, my brothers, mark and adria uh been growing up with marcus special uh you guys have had the chance to watch his n b a career that he was a special special kit ha ha um shooting hoops at her grandparents backyard and competing already he always tried to beat me um you know um i always try to make sure that he knew that i was a big brother he shouldn't beat me but it did it you know at some pointy you know you grew up um when we play for our country, we played many championships one medals um and we got traded for each other crazy i think we are the only brothers we ever got traded for each other and and we experience one of the most special things i think in our career which was a jumble at the also game a thousand and at the madison square garden you know is pretty special to to share that truly unbelievable, thank you mark and my brother adilla wasn't particularly interested in basketball early on he used to bring books when i used to play memphis just reading his book his comic books but you know he's the only one in our family that got a massage degree in business so i'm very proud to have you both as brothers thank you love you and i wanted to take a moment to recognize all the players some of you are here coaches that have come before me that paved the way the build is amazing leak thank you all for your contributions we truly appreciate him thank you and being from where i'm from from europe spain i wanted to give a special mention to those first europeans that came here across the ocean that took a chance in open doors for players like myself for nano martine the first banished player to ever play in the nba drazzin, petrabitch, saruna's marshallinis deathless strength out of yes, savanni, stony, cocoach, vladivoch, dino, raja, ricksmith's amazing players thank you to all i started started playing basketball when i was a kid when i was seven years old, i was just having fun with friends at school with my classmates but then 9922 happen you know the olympics barcelona i was 12 it changed my life the dream team showed us how basketball could be played it made me dream of playing at that level playing with the best of the best and that launch really an incredible growth in the sport internationally uh and the twenty twenty three class is a true testament of it so thank you to the dream team ninety two to those teams also european teams that competed against them you know didn't do so well but but you know it is what it is it was pretty good ha ha then when i was thirteen years old my coach that uh the next thing that i played my first club team that i played at c b coroneya gave me a chance to play point guard for a game teaching me how hard that position was it was extremely humbling see i i struggled, tremendously guiding a guy that was five two and really quick uh having to bring the ball up and down on the court but um but what i took from that experience is that those ages think the importance is to to teach in and growing you know not so much focusing on winning and losing so um that's that's an important message i think to keep and especially you know at all levels in the world as we trying to teach our kids to play basketball girls and voice couple years later uh a guy that i was guarding his a tough turn around jumper i'm like coach what what do? what do? i do? how could i defend that he said nothing he'll be you know he used to play it was a guy from fc barcelona the time i wasn't there yet he said don't worry he'll make it to the pros and you you won't so okay okay i guess i mean we all faced moments and comments like that through our lives and careers but i've always embraced them you know allow them to motivate me and and help me grow and then the next level went to fc barcelona where i played with many great coaches and players some of them had become great friends today and a special mention to my good friend and on colors navarro who was a special player, special talent not just with with epsy barcelona with this with spain, we're a great great friends and great players so i wanted to acknowledge him because he really inspired me to to be a better player at that time uh then after the n b a and i got drafted two thousand one thank you for the grizzlies for giving me the opportunity to play in the nba for fulfilling my dream when i first arrived in memphis, i was like wow a pyramid oh guess all n b a teams playing pyramids here it's kind of different but you know pretty cool i guess uh man i still remember our first fresh conference with shane and will solomon that also got drafted with us uh my english was very limited i wasn't very comfortable speaking what i knew which was very little but i quickly recognized that my teammate here was very tickley very smart so i just had to follow what? he said right so when the media asks us how we fell about the nba being in memphis first time, the team just moved from vancouver and shane went shane went first obviously i was smart enough to allow to go first and they wanted them and he was a fan favorite in all nba great guy so i just repeated the last war that i understood you know that i was able to identify that he was electrifying sounded good right sounded good so thank you sharing for being here tonight i love you i'm proud i'm proud of my years in memphis the word that we did we said the foundation for where the grizzies have become some of those people that were there at that time billy night, michael, heistley, sydney, low, mike miller, lorenzon, right, jason, william, stromile, swift, hebby, brown, jerry, west in my fortel but while i'm so grateful all of you are in this building i'm thinking of the ones as well who are not in particular kobe bryant he was such an inspiration for my generation i'm sure all of us in this room so i'd like to share a lesson i learned from it was 2008 the redeemed team was formed and we were in vegas for the start of training camp and we're getting ready for the olympics in beijing, we're going to head to beijing and i wanted to establish myself as a young leader on the team by waking up bright and early day one so the goal was to be the first one at breakfast so i set my alarm i make sure i'm about sunrise i get out of bed i put on my gear and i head downstairs but when i get there kobe's already there with ice packs on his knees drenched and sweat now it took me a minute to figure it out but this guy wasn't only awake before me he had already worked out, he had just played in the final days earlier meanwhile i'd been off for months and i was still exhausted what he had done that morning was incomprehensible to me that dedication he had only days after falling short of an nba championship that taught me some i've never forgotten legends aren't defined by their successes they're defined by how they bounce back from their failures。 and one of those moments happened a few years after those olympics when i was the one who had just lost a championship in 2011 i never thought that we would get that far and loose and as soon as the buzzer went off i just broke down and unfortunately for me the cameras caught it there's even a video of it on youtube called something like chris bosch cries like a little girl which you know i find a pencil at that moment i didn't feel like an all star i didn't feel like a champion heat nation are you here i mean you remember 27 game winning street four finals in a row 11, consecutive all star games and that's if you're a numbers person got to have big plays in the finals back to back championships, but most importantly we put touches on a super team of our own。 when the doctor told me, i would have to choose between risking my life every time i stepped on the court or retiring from the game at age thirty one you know after working as hard as i could the training the practices the weight sessions the bus rise the film going back at night to work on my game after finally making it to the mountaintop was so much more to do in my mind so much more to prove suddenly it all started by now i don't have to tell you that there were plenty of tears that day and in the day since, but in going through those crossroads i eventually came to realize that we all have it in our power to make the most out of every day despite what happens to turn setbacks into strings because in a way as the lesson i've been learning my whole life it's what i was talking to gino about in high school it's what i learned from kobe at the olympics they weren't indies they were beginnings they weren't moments that maybe want to stop working there were moments that made me want to work even harder and when i think about if there were more than tears there were the water that made it possible for the seeds of greatness inside me to grow and then the reason that that little kid with those thin makeshift posters on the wall is standing in front of his heroes tonight as a member of the nay smith memorial basketball hall of fame thank you very much。

最伟大的名人堂 anything is possible kevin garner and it is and it is my pleasure to introduce tim duncan okay we'll try to get through this this is the most nerves ever been in my life been through finals game sevens this is officially the most nerves ever been in my life and paste my room all day so let's go please welcome vanessa brian i'm okay go。

bill russell is someone who is special to the nba in many unique ways first of all at a time when our sport was under duress because people said it was getting to black remember this guy named russell who played with this other guy named kuzi the best basketball that i think ever existed in the world and adorned on me that we had some something to teach the world and bill russell early on was a man who expressed his views very strongly and independent and welcome to the hall of fame bill magic told us that out of adversity we in basketball could teach the world something we changed the debate on aids it was bad enough that when magic announced that he was hiv that we all thought he was gonna die i don't know how else to say it i'm almost moved to tears every time i'm in his presence and i love to give him a hug just to check that he's still there and i tell him when he gets a little flabby coming from me that's kind of interesting but magic and i actually believed him when he said he would play the game for nothing because he loved it so much and that smile is it still true magic yes, okay and he's demonstrated off the court how you give back to the community not only working with respect the hiv but investing in the inn in the city he tells us what the best of basketball is possible about and i'm moved by him on a regular basis russ russes here that russ to me is a 30 year colleague at the nba, who was responsible for just a few things like doing everything whether it's reacting to phoeba's request that we come into the olympics and i'm thankful that ivan menini is here the president of the fever representing fever, fever or making sure the wnba got launched or making sure the nba development league got launched or you know even making sure that our referees did whatever they were supposed to do except for joey corford who's here tonight you thought i'd let you get away with that joey right no okay but on behalf of all of my colleagues or to all of my colleagues i say thank you and russes here representing you you know larry bird he was grouchy too as a rookie, but he loves this game and he tells us that if you're a great great player there's a place for you in our league as a as an investor as a coach, as a general manager and as a leader and together with magic larry and magic they're forever into robin and to me he's here representing what it was to have greatness and finally bob lenir big bob is important to me for so many reasons because he's such a great friend, but he was the president of the union in 1983 and we negotiated that collective bargain agreement to say intensely is not enough of an expression and in fact bob taught me not to be afraid of size because having him glower at me from of course the table was intimidating for a bit, but i got over it, but what people don't know is after we did the collective bargaining i said let's talk about drugs and bob said let's talk about drugs i don't want a kids to think that if you're a very large black man you must be on drugs we're going to have an anti document it wasn't me it was bobbling here。 when we were in diane and i were in china we had a guide that told us she was a big fan of the red oxen, because she was corrected she meant bulls when i was in when i was in paris and sitting with the prime minister of france at a game he said because it was the bulls could he go into the locker room i thought here it comes michael jordan, he said i'd like to meet dennis rodman, we go around the world we talk about exercise fitness and good health we enroll a million indian children into junior nba and junior wnba because we teach them about discipline, about hard work, about sacrifice, about teamwork and about a sense of confidence that comes from accomplishing something it's absolutely incredible but it's always about。 i think the future is incredibly bright and the reason i'm here is because of thousands of people, thousands of people over the years who have done so much about what you saw on that tape and so i'm gonna ask all of you to stand up okay i don't not so you can applaud, but so you can see that we've got fans of nba women's basketball you know the media the teams the nba a thank you very much you're responsible for it and the league is in spectacular shape going forward。
